KMS Load Balancing – PiKS Kitchen Monitor Solution
Overview
This guide explains how to use the load balancing feature within the KMS (Kitchen Monitor System) to distribute order tickets across multiple screens.
- The system supports load balancing across multiple stations.
- By default, only the first station is active — all other screens will show a closed logo.
- Orders are routed to the first active station (Line 1) unless load balancing is manually enabled on others.
Turn On Load Balancing
To enable load balancing on an additional screen:
- Press MENU on the bump bar.
- Scroll down to Station On.
- Press SHOW on the bump bar.
This will activate the station and update the background logo to the default display.
How Load Balancing Works
Once two or more stations have load balancing enabled:
- New order tickets will alternate between active stations.
- This ensures an even distribution of workload across the line.
Send a Ticket to Another Station
You can manually reassign a ticket to another station using the bump bar:
- Select the ticket you wish to move.
- Press the * (asterisk) button on the bump bar.
- Scroll to Reallocate and press SHOW.
The ticket will then be sent to another active station for handling.
Turn Off Load Balancing
To deactivate load balancing on a screen:
- Press MENU on the bump bar.
- Scroll down to Station Off.
- Press SHOW to confirm.
⚠️ Note: If the screen has active tickets when turned off, those tickets must be manually reallocated to another station.
