Creating Periods
The method of creating a period depends on whether the Company Periods feature is in use.
A new period is created in Current state. It is recommended that the period is created at the start of the period, after approving the previous period, so that the period can remain open and "current" until it is time to start entering counts at period end.
Note: You cannot create a new period if one already exists in Current state, as it is only possible to have one period in Current state at a time.
Period Creation (Standard)
If not using the Company Periods feature, to create a new period, head to Period Management > Periods and select [New Period].

The new period being created will start at the New Period Open Date shown (based off the end time of the period period) and will end at the New Period Close Date selected.
Then, select [Create Period]. The new period is now available in Current state.
