What Is The "UNASSIGNED PRODUCTS" Group?
You may notice the "UNASSIGNED PRODUCTS" product group within your product hierarchy or reporting.
This group is designed to capture products that have been automatically via an integration with a POS system. Products assigned against this group should be allocated against a product group within your product group hierarchy.
The System Alerts landing page widget can be used to flag when there are products against this group.
Can Cinchio Product Grouping Replicate POS Product Grouping?
It is possible to for product grouping in Cinchio Back Office to replicate product grouping in the following POS systems:
- MyVenue POS
- NCR Silver / Aloha Cloud (Single POS Merchant)
- NCR Silver / Aloha Cloud (Multiple POS Merchants)

NCR Silver / Aloha Cloud (Single POS Merchant)
Within your NCR Silver / Aloha Cloud account:
- Products are assigned to Categories.
- Categories can be assigned to Departments.
NCR does not enforce the assignment of Categories to Departments, but this must be done in order to utilise this process.
If this process is enabled for your company:
- Cinchio Back Office will automatically create one Super Group to contain all Master Groups.
- Cinchio Back Office will automatically create Master Groups which represent NCR Departments.
- Cinchio Back Office will automatically create Product Groups which represents NCR Categories, that are assigned to Master Groups as per the Category-to-Department relationship within NCR.
- Cinchio Back Office will automatically assign products to Product Groups as per the NCR Category relationship.
This process occurs overnight daily. Therefore:
- Any new products created on a given day will show against the "UNASSIGNED SALES" product group until the following day.
- Any manual product group assignment changes made to POS products within Cinchio Back Office will revert back to the POS setup the following day.
NCR Silver / Aloha Cloud (Multiple POS Merchants)
Within each NCR Silver / Aloha Cloud account:
- Products are assigned to Categories.
- Categories can be assigned to Departments.
NCR does not enforce the assignment of Categories to Departments, but this must be done in order to utilise this process.
If this process is enabled for your company:

Super Groups must be configured within Cinchio Back Office and assigned to each merchant.
- Each merchant can have it's own Super Group or a Super Group can be shared across merchants.
- Cinchio Back Office will automatically create Master Groups which represent NCR Departments.
- The Master Groups are created under the Super Group assigned to the merchant.
- If multiple merchants share a super group and the NCR Departments are named the same, only one Master Group is created which is shared across the merchants.
- Cinchio Back Office will automatically create Product Groups which represents NCR Categories.
- The Product Groups are created under the Master Groups that exist within the Super Group assigned to the merchant.
- If multiple merchants share a super group and the NCR Categories are named the same:
- If the NCR Categories are within NCR Departments of the same name, then only one Product Group is created within the same Master Group which is shared across the merchants.
- If the NCR Categories are within NCR Departments that are named differently, then multiple Product Groups are created under the relevant Master Group as per the Category-to-Department relationship in NCR.
- Cinchio Back Office will automatically assign products to Product Groups as per the NCR Category relationship within each merchant.
This process occurs overnight daily. Therefore:
- Any new products created on a given day will show against the "UNASSIGNED SALES" product group until the following day.
