How these examples work
These examples show how to set up the most common kinds of deal. They're for illustration. For every field and option, see the Deals guide.
Before you start, make sure you have
A deal reporting product
The product the deal reports against in transactions. It's a standard Back Office product with Deal Reporting Product ticked in Additional Options.
Any product families
Families of products used in conditions, or to leave products out of a transaction discount. Manage them in Product Families.
Choose an example
Which kind of deal are you setting up?
Transaction discount
A discount on the whole basket. It can apply to any basket, or only once a minimum spend or quantity is reached.
F&B example
10% off your bill when you spend over £100.
Retail example
5% off your basket when you buy 12 or more eligible items.
Does the discount need a condition?
No, it applies to any basket
For example, 10% off any basket when the customer enters a promo code.
No conditions needed
Unconditional discounts apply to any basket, so you can skip Deal Conditions.

Set up the deal details
Create the deal with these settings:
The name the deal is known by in Cinchio Back Office. Customers don't see it.
The deal type to group it under.
The deal reporting product it reports against.
When the deal runs. You can narrow this down later with availability rules.
Once the deal is created, set these options in Deal Details:
Not needed. This deal has no conditions.
Tick if items discounted by this deal can be discounted again by another transaction-level deal applied later. Usually left off for this kind of deal.

Add the discount
Add one deal discount:
The name customers see.
The percentage or amount taken off.
The Tax Option fills in automatically for your location.
Optionally, set a Discount Value Limit to cap the discount, and use Exclude Products with a product family to leave some items out.
The deal is set up. Next, add it to your menus.
Yes, a minimum spend or quantity

Set up the deal details
Create the deal with these settings:
The name the deal is known by in Cinchio Back Office. Customers don't see it.
The deal type to group it under.
The deal reporting product it reports against.
When the deal runs. You can narrow this down later with availability rules.
Once the deal is created, set these options in Deal Details:
Tick if items already discounted by an item-level deal still count towards this deal's condition. For example, a combo deal's fixed price still counting towards a £100 minimum spend.
Tick if items discounted by this deal can be discounted again by another transaction-level deal applied later.

Add the condition
Add one deal condition for the minimum basket:
A name only seen in Cinchio Back Office.
The product family or product that counts towards the threshold.
The threshold, such as £100 or 12 items.
Leave blank. The discount is triggered by the minimum only.

Add the discount
Add one deal discount:
The name customers see.
The percentage or amount taken off.
The Tax Option fills in automatically for your location.
Optionally, set a Discount Value Limit to cap the discount, and use Exclude Products with a product family to leave some items out.
The deal is set up. Next, add it to your menus.

Add a deal condition for each part of the combo. Here, that's 1 burger, 1 side and 1 drink.
For each one, fill in:
A name only seen in Cinchio Back Office.
The product family or product for that part of the combo.

Add one deal discount:
The name customers see.
Leave blank.
The Tax Option fills in automatically for your location.
The deal is set up. Next, add it to your menus.

Add two deal conditions: one for the buy item, and one for the free item. Having a separate condition for the free item means the discount can target just that item.
For each one, fill in:

The product family or product.

Add one deal discount:
The name customers see.
The condition for the free item, so the other item stays at full price.
Leave blank.
The Tax Option fills in automatically for your location.

Promotional product
A product is free or reduced when other items are in the basket.

Buy 4 beers and get a snack sharer plate.
Retail example
Spend £20.00 on stationery and get a free pencil.

Add two deal conditions: one for what must be bought, and one for the promo product. Having a separate condition for the promo product means the discount can target just that item.
Which condition are you setting up?
What must be bought
The product family or product. Make sure the promo product isn't included, either by leaving it out or with Item Selection Exceptions.
Usually Amount, for a minimum spend.
The spend needed.
Leave blank.
The promo product
The promo product, or its product family.
How many promo products are discounted when the condition is met.

Add the discount
Add one deal discount:
The name customers see.
The condition for the promo product, so only it is discounted.
Leave blank.
The Tax Option fills in automatically for your location.
The deal is set up. Next, add it to your menus.
Promotional price
Selected products are sold at a fixed promotional price.
F&B example
All cocktails at £6.95 during happy hour.
Retail example
Selected T-shirts for £20.00.

Not usually needed, because every eligible item is discounted. If you set an Iteration Limit, choose Most Expensive or Least Expensive.

Volume discount: minimum spend
Selected items get a discount once a spend threshold is reached.
F&B example
10% off main meals when you spend £80.00.
Retail example
20% off clothing when you spend £200.00.
