Starting The Shift
For sites declaring Cash Counts via the Operations Hub, the Start Shift process is available if it is required to declare opening floats at the start of a shift to increase expected cash at the POS.
To start the shift, access the Operations Hub and select [Cash Counts].
If your site is configured to Cash Up by Till you'll be prompted to select a till first, whereas if your site is configured to Cash Up by Location or Site, the action will be attributed to the location of the Operations Hub.
Then, select [Enter Opening Float].
Enter the float amount when prompted, then select [Confirm].
Additional Information
When selecting [Confirm], in Back Office a Cash Event is created and generates a transaction which increases Cash for the selected till and offsets this against a Float media. This cash event can be edited via Back Office if any adjustments to the initial float declaration are required.
The [Enter Opening Float] button is disabled after the Cash Event representing the float declaration is created. This option will remain disabled until a Cash Up ending after the time of the Cash Event is created either via the [Enter Closing Count] procedure on the Operations Hub or manually within Back Office.
