About
Price levels hold your product prices and tax settings, so you can support different pricing and reporting needs.
For example
Different prices
Separate Eat In and Take Out price levels, if their prices differ.
Different channels
A price level for each delivery partner, to track sales by aggregator, even if the prices are the same.
Two kinds of price level
Cinchio Back Office
Created and managed in Cinchio Back Office. Usually used for menus, remote ordering integrations and back office ordering.
POS
Created automatically by a POS integration. They show the prices held in the POS, for reference.
Each price level is assigned to a price level type, which groups similar price levels together for reporting. For example, all your delivery price levels under one Delivery type.

FAQs
Frequently asked questions
QHow do Cinchio Back Office and POS price levels differ?
In Cinchio Back Office, every product price and tax rate is held against a price level. There are two kinds:
Cinchio Back Office price levels
Created and managed in Cinchio Back Office, separately from any POS. Usually used for remote sales integrations, menu management, back office ordering and RRPs. You manage their prices and tax in Cinchio Back Office. See Prices & Tax Rates.
POS price levels
Created automatically to match the price levels, or order modes, on your POS. Their prices are usually for reference only and can't be edited in Cinchio Back Office. Change them on the POS, and Cinchio Back Office picks up the changes.
QWhat are RRP price levels?
An RRP (recommended retail price) is the price a product is expected to sell at. Selling below it is effectively a discount, but it may not show in the Combo Sales & Discounts report if no discount or deal was actually used.
Usually, a product's RRP is its normal price on the price level it was sold on. For example, a sale on Take Out uses the product's standard Take Out price. That price may come from the POS, a remote sales platform, or a Cinchio Back Office price level.
You can override this, so RRPs come from a different price level instead. For example, a sale on Take Out could use the Eat In price as its RRP.
Setting an RRP override
Where should the override apply?

1

3

One price level
Applies only to sales on one price level.
1
Go to Product Management > Price Setup > Price Levels, find the price level and select Edit.
2
Choose the price level from the Default RRP Price Level list.
3
Select SAVE PRICE LEVEL.
QWhy can I edit the tax on a POS price level, but not the price?
POS price levels are created by the POS integration, and their prices come from the POS. That's why you change POS prices on the POS, not in Cinchio Back Office.
Sometimes the POS doesn't send its tax rates, so a default tax rate is used in Cinchio Back Office. This doesn't affect tax or sales reporting, because tax is applied at the POS. But you can change the tax rate in Cinchio Back Office to match the POS if you'd like to. It's optional.
Troubleshooting
POS prices aren't updating in Cinchio Back Office
POS prices should show on your POS price levels, and update within about an hour of being changed on the POS.
If they haven't updated, contact the European Helpdesk or the North American Helpdesk with examples of the products and prices affected.
