Assigning Prices & Tax Rates
This article guides you through the various methods of adding and updating product prices and tax rates against price levels within Cinchio Back Office.
Please note that in some cases where price levels are integrated to external systems, prices and/or tax may not be editable within Cinchio Back Office.
Assigning Product Prices & Tax Using The Price List Report
The most efficient method of updating prices and/or tax rates against a price levels is via the Price List report.
This allows you to update multiple products across multiple price levels in the same place.

Assigning Product Prices & Tax Within The Product Setup
Prices can be assigned against price levels within the product setup page of each product.
To do this:
- Head to Product Management > Products and locate the product.
- Against the product select [EDIT] and then [PRICES & COSTS].
You'll then see all prices and tax rates associated with the product where you can:
Assign A New Price
If a price does not yet exist against a price level for a product, you can add one by selecting [NEW PRICE].
In the New Price window:
- Price Level Type: Select the price level type that the price level belongs to.
- Price Level: Select the price level that you are setting the price for.
- Price Type: Select Price for standard product prices. (For open price products, select: Open Price.)
- Price: Enter the unit price of the product on this price level.
- Tax Rate: Select the tax rate of the product on this price level.
- Price Excludes Tax: Select if the price is tax exclusive.
Select [SAVE].
Edit An Existing Price
If a price already already exists for the product and needs to be updated, against the price level select [EDIT].
The following can be updated:
- Price: Edit the price.
- Tax Rate: Edit the tax rate.
- Price Excludes Tax: Select if the price shown is exclusive of tax.
Select [Update].
Remove An Existing Price & Tax
If a price already already exists for a product but is no longer required, it can be disabled.
Against the price level select [EDIT]. change the Price Type to Disabled and then select [Update].
Assigning Product Prices & Tax Within The Price Level
You cannot add new prices to a product within the price level, but you can updated existing prices if required.
Furthermore, within the price level there is an option to copy the price and tax setup of all products from another price level to the current one. Exercise caution when using this feature, as it cannot be undone.
Edit An Existing Price
To access price level prices:
- Head to Product Management > Price Setup > Price Levels, and select [EDIT] against the price level.
- Then, select the Prices tab.
Against an existing product price, select [EDIT] and the following can be updated:
- Price: Edit the price.
- Tax Rate: Edit the tax rate.
- Price Excludes Tax: Select if the price shown is exclusive of tax.
Select [Update].
Copy Prices Feature
The Copy Prices feature allows you to replace all existing price and tax rate settings for products on the current price level with the price and tax rate settings from another selected price level. This feature should be used with caution as changes made in this way cannot be reversed.
To do this, head to Product Management > Price Setup > Price Levels and select [EDIT] against the price level that is to be updated. Then, to copy prices over:
- Select [COPY PRICES FROM PRICE LEVEL].
- Select the price level that you want to Copy Prices From.
- Select [COPY PRICES] and confirm.
Any price and tax settings against the current price level will be removed, and the current price level will be updated with product prices and tax as per the price level being copied from.
Assigning Product Prices & Tax Within A Menu
For organisations using the Menu Management module, product prices and tax can be updated directly within the menu.
Changes made here update the price and tax against the price level(s) associated with the menu.
