Introduction
Transactions received into Cinchio Back Office from all POS and remote order sales platforms are standardised on the way in, meaning that each transaction can be accessed, viewed and reported on in the same way regardless of the source of the transaction.

Transaction Structure
Every transaction in Cinchio Back Office has three core elements available to view within the transaction page:
- Transaction Details
- Sale Item Details
- Payment Details
At the bottom of every transaction, the time that the transaction processed into Cinchio Back Office is shown. Additionally, for companies using the Inventory Management module, stock movement and theoretical cost information is available for each item within the transaction.
Transaction Details
The transaction header contains key details about the transaction.
Additional information on this view
- Date & Time: The date and time that the transaction was closed at source.
- Site & Location: The site and location where the transaction occurred.
- Sales Type: The type of transaction, as covered in the Transaction Types section below.
- Till: The till that the transaction was closed against.
- Covers: The number of covers entered against the transaction. (If applicable.)
- Team Member: The team member that entered the transaction.
- Transaction ID: The unique Cinchio Back Office transaction ID number.
- Table No: The table number assigned to the transaction. (If applicable.)
- Source: The source system that the transaction originated from.
- External Transaction ID: The ID assigned to the transaction outside of Cinchio Back Office.
- Order Reference: The order reference assigned to the transaction by the transaction source.
If a Cinchio customer is linked to the transaction via account or loyalty, the following is also shown:
- Loyalty System: Displays the type of loyalty/account system that has been used.
- Customer Name: Displays the customer’s name. (This is a link into the customer too.)
- Points Awarded: Displays the number of points earned within the transaction. (If applicable.)
Sale Item Details
The sale items section displays each product sold within the transaction.
Additional Information On This View
The value shown against each product varies depending on the Reporting Profile used by your company.
Reporting Profile: Tax Inclusive (UK Style)
For companies using the Tax Inclusive Reporting Profile, the sale items section of a transaction is shown as per the image below.
Against each sale item the following is shown:
- Product: Displays the products description in Cinchio Back Office.
- Sale Type: Displays the sale type of the product sold on this row.
- Unit Price: Displays the price of a single unit of the product before any discount.
- Quantity: Displays the quantity sold. (Or refunded, if negative.)
- RRP: Displays the gross value for the row, before discount is removed.
- Gross: Displays the gross value paid by the customer for this row, after discount is removed.
- Net: Displays the net value, after tax and discount are removed.
- Tax: Displays the tax applied to the row, per the tax settings at the source.
- Discount: Displays discount value, ff applicable. (Calculated as RRP less Gross.)
- Price Level Name: Displays the price level that the product was sold on.
If there is a note against a sale item, an ⓘ icon is available on the row which shows the note entered when selected.
If the Sale Type is "Void", sale values are displayed as strikethrough text to denote voided values.
Reporting Profile: Tax Inclusive (UK Style)
For companies using the Tax Exclusive Reporting Profile, the sale items section of a transaction is shown as per the image below.
Against each sale item the following is shown:
- Product: Displays the products description in Cinchio Back Office.
- Sale Type: Displays the sale type of the product sold on this row.
- Unit Price: Displays the price of a single unit of the product before any discount.
- Quantity: Displays the quantity sold. (Or refunded, if negative.)
- Gross: Displays the gross value for the row, before discount is removed and before tax is added.
- Total: Displays the total value paid by the customer, after discount is removed and tax is added.
- Net: Displays the net value, after discount is removed and before tax is added.
- Tax: Displays the tax applied to the row, per the tax settings at the source.
- Discount: Displays discount value, if applicable. (Calculated as Gross less Net.)
- Price Level Name: Displays the price level that the product was sold on.
If there is a note against a sale item, an ⓘ icon is available on the row which shows the note entered when selected.
If the Sale Type is "Void", sale values are displayed as strikethrough text to denote voided values.
Payment Details
The payment details section displays payments used to finalise the transaction.
If there are any liabilities such as service charge, tips and donations, these are also shown here as a negative value.
Additional information on this view
- Payment Type: This is the payment type assigned to the payment method within Cinchio Back Office.
- Payment: This is the payment method which the transaction was finalised to.
- Reference: If an Integrated Card Payment has been used as payment, a restricted view of the card number is shown for reference.
- Gift Card: If an Integrated Gift Card has been used as payment, the gift card name is show here which can be selected to open the full history for the gift card.
- Amount: This is the amount of the payment media taken.
Stock Movement Details & Theoretical Cost
For companies using the Inventory Management module, the Stock Movement Details section displays each stock movement generated by each product sold within the transaction, based on the product recipes at the time that the transaction processed into Cinchio Back Office.
