Tills Configuration
Within Cinchio Back Office, Tills represent the physical POS terminal - or virtual terminal, in the case of remote order integrations - that transactions are finalised against for reporting purposes.
Creating Tills
It is not possible to create a till within Cinchio Back Office. Physical tills are created automatically via a POS integration, and virtual tills used by remote sales integrations are created by Cinchio when configuring the integration.
Editing Tills
Settings against tills within Cinchio Back Office are specific to elements within Cinchio Back Office only, and have no impact on the POS system for tills derived from the POS.
To edit an existing till:
- Head to Company Settings > Tills.
- Locate the required till and select [EDIT].
Within the existing till, you can define the following:
| Till Name | Displays the name of the till. |
| Serial Number | Displays the serial number of the till, if applicable. |
| Active | Displays whether the till is currently active. |
| Location | Displays the location that the till is assigned to. |
| Till Account | Allows for selection of a Till type Site Account associated with the till, however this setting is deprecated. |
| Sales Channel | Select the sales channel associated with transactions entered on this till. This can be referenced within Custom Reporting if required. |
| Cash Limit | For Revenue Management subscribers, enter a cash limit for cash in this till. The cash limit is then represented alongside cash received today in the Cash In Tills Dashboard Widget. |
| Default Cash Up Count Template |
Select the cash up Count Template to use by default for the location. Note that this overrides any default count template set at Site Level and Location Level. |
| Auto Fill Cash Up |
As part of the Revenue Management module, select this to automatically populate a new cash up with the Sales Date as the current sales date, and the Cash Up End Date as the end of the current day. This must also be enabled when using the Quick Cash Up feature (below). Note that this overrides the setting set at Site Level and Location Level. |
| Pin Cash Up To End Of Day |
If Auto Fill Cash Up (above) is enabled, select this to enable the Quick Cash Up feature for this till. For more information on the Quick Cash Up feature, Click Here. Note that this overrides the setting set at Site Level and Location Level. |

If the Quick Cash Up feature is enabled (above), if the cash up end date needs to differ to the end of the sales date, enter the end time here. For more information on the Quick Cash Up feature, Click Here. Note that this overrides the setting set at Site Level and Location Level. |
| Front Of House | Select this if the till is a physical front of house till. |
| Back Of House | Select this if the till is a virtual back office till, typically enabled for tills used within Customer Orders. |
| Online Till | Select this if the till is a virtual online till, typically enabled for tills associated with remote sales integrations. |
| Till Link |
The till link provides access to the Operations Dashboard. For information on managing operations dashboard till links, Click Here. |
| API Secure Key |
If the till is used as part of the remote sales integration via the Cinchio API, the API secure key of the till is shown here. If an API key does not yet show, select [GENERATE SECURE KEY]. |
| Re-Float Cash Event |
As part of the Revenue Management module, select the cash event to use when re-floating the till if using the Cash Up Floats feature. For more information on the Cash Up Floats feature, Click Here. |

Ensure that you select [SAVE TILL] to save any changes before leaving the till.
Searching Tills
Access the Tills section via: Company Settings > Tills.
All tills are shown by default when accessing this section.
If required, you can filter the list to see specific tills, by using the following filters within the Search panel at the top of the section:
- Name: Search based on the till name (or part of).
- Locations: Search for tills assigned to selected locations, if applicable.
- Show Deleted: Select to include previously deleted tills in the search results.
Select [SEARCH], and all tills which meet your search criteria will be listed.
The till list shows the following:
- Till: Displays the name of the till.
- Location: Displays the location within the site that the till is assigned to.
- Sales Channel: Displays the sales channel that the till is associated with, if defined.
By default 10 records will show per page. To access other pages, use the page selector in the bottom right corner of the list.
Deleting Tills
Till Deletion
A till can be deleted if no longer required within Cinchio Back Office.
Note that deleting a till in Cinchio Back Office:
- Hides the till from view Cinchio Back Office only; there is no impact on tills in the POS system for tills that are derived from the POS.
- Has no impact on the sales history associated with that till in Cinchio Back Office.
- Has no impact on any active till licenses associated with the till.
You can only delete a till if you have rights to do so. Click Here if you do not have rights to delete but believe you should.
To delete a till:
- Head to Company Settings > Tills.
- Locate the required till and select [EDIT].
Within the till:
- Select [DELETE].
- Confirm the deletion.
The till is now marked as deleted.
Till Recovery
As this is a soft delete, the till can be recovered if required.
To do so, locate the till (ensuring that the Show Deleted search filter is set to "Yes") and access the till record again.
Select [UNDELETE] and confirm the recovery.
The till is now available in Cinchio Back Office again.
