F&B Recipe Configuration
Set up the products you sell as Recipe stock, made from your supplied ingredients.

This article explains how to set up F&B saleable products as Recipe stock in the Inventory Management module of Cinchio Back Office.
Recipe stock is anything that
Is sold to customers
A product made from several ingredients.
Goes into other recipes
A product made from several ingredients and used as an ingredient itself.
Moves its ingredients
It creates stock movements against its raw Supplied ingredients.
Ready to start?
Go to the Create tab.
Create
Create the product as Recipe stock, or convert an existing product, then link the ingredients it's made from.
Steps

Create or open the product
Is the product already in Cinchio Back Office?
No, it's brand new

Go to Product Management > Products and select NEW BACK OFFICE PRODUCT.

Fill in the product details:
The product's name, as you know it.
Copy the long name into this field.
Your internal code for the product. If you don't need one, copy the PLU.
The master group the product reports to.
The group the product reports to.
Select Recipe.

Select CREATE & ADD MORE DETAIL.
Yes, convert it
The product exists but isn't set up for inventory yet.

Go to Product Management > Products, find the product and select EDIT, then PRODUCT.

In the Product Details section, change Stock Type from Other to Recipe.

The Product Sizing window opens. For a standard recipe that isn't for kitchen production, you don't need to change anything. Select SAVE to accept the defaults.

Add an ingredient
On the product's Recipes tab, select NEW RECIPE ITEM. In the new row at the bottom, fill in:
The ingredient. The list includes supplied products and other recipes.
How much of the ingredient is in the recipe, in the Unit Size shown.
These are shown for reference:
The cost of one unit of the ingredient, in the Unit Size shown.
The total net cost of the ingredient in this recipe, based on the quantity.
The ingredient's stock type: supplied stock or another recipe.

Add the rest and save
Repeat step 2 for each ingredient, then select SAVE & EXIT.
Recipe cost
The total cost updates as you add ingredients, using the latest cost at the current site. Find out how recipe costs work.

Add extra settings (optional)
Once the recipe is set up, you can also:
The product is set up as Recipe stock. When it's sold, its ingredients come off stock.
Edit
Update a recipe's details, ingredients, allergens or recipe adjustments.
Open the product first
Go to Product Management > Products, find the product and select EDIT, then PRODUCT.
What do you want to change?
Core product details
For product details that aren't specific to inventory, find out how to edit a product.
Recipe ingredients
On the product's Recipes tab:
Change a quantity
Update the Quantity, in the Unit Size shown.
Remove an ingredient
Select the delete icon on its row.
Add an ingredient
Select NEW RECIPE ITEM and fill in the row. See adding an ingredient.
Then select SAVE & EXIT.
Allergens and nutrition
Recipe adjustments
Archive
When a recipe product is no longer needed, take it out of inventory and archive it. You need to remove all its ties to inventory first.
Delete rights needed
You can only archive a product if your user role allows it. Find out how user role rights work.
Steps

Open the product
Go to Product Management > Products, find the product and select EDIT, then PRODUCT.

Remove it from other recipes
On the Used By Recipes tab, open each recipe listed and remove this product as a component. Then go back to the product.

Remove its ingredients
On the Recipes tab, select the delete icon on every row, then select SAVE & REMAIN.

Remove recipe adjustments (if used)
If your company uses recipe adjustments, scroll to the Additional Product Information section at the bottom of the product page. For each of these buttons, open it, delete any rows with the delete icon, then select BACK TO PRODUCT:

- LOCATION RECIPE ADJUSTMENTS
- PRICE & LOCATION RECIPE ADJUSTMENTS

Take it out of inventory
On the Product Detail tab, change Stock Type to Other and select SAVE & REMAIN. The product is no longer an inventory product.

Delete it (optional)
Select DELETE and confirm. This hides the product rather than truly deleting it, so your product list stays tidy while historical data still links to it.
The product is archived. If you need it again, you can recover a deleted product.
