FAQs
Frequently asked questions
QWhat's the difference between the Product ID, PLU and Product Code?
Every product has three identifiers:
Product ID
The product's unique ID in Cinchio Back Office. Used to link it to selected POS systems and third-party integrations.
PLU
The product's number in your product list. Used to link it to selected POS systems.
Product Code
Your company's own code for the product. It often matches the PLU, but you can change it to your internal codes.
QHow do Back Office products and POS products differ?
Back Office products
Created and fully managed in Cinchio Back Office, separately from any POS. They can be for back office use only, such as inventory products, or used on POS and remote ordering platforms, as long as the products are mapped to them.
POS products
Created on an integrated POS, which creates a matching product in Cinchio Back Office with the core settings for reporting. You can add more settings in Cinchio Back Office. Some details may be locked, because they're updated from the POS.
Product mapping and locked details vary by platform. If you're not sure, contact the European Helpdesk or the North American Helpdesk.
QHow do I upload images and files to a product?
See images, files and families in the Edit tab.
QHow do I check the allergens on products?
For one product, see allergens in the Edit tab. To see the allergens for every product, use:
