Wastage Types
Wastage Types are be used to track the reasons for Wastage taking place.
You can manage a list of Wastage Types for users to select when creating wastage and stock adjustments. The selected Wastage Type then shows alongside products within wastage reporting.
Creating Wastage Types
To create a Wastage Type, head to head to Inventory Management > Wastage > Wastage Types and select [Create Wastage Type].
Within the Create Wastage Type window:
- Wastage Type Name: Enter a name for the Wastage Type.

Stock Adjustment Type: Select whether products recorded against this type will:
- Negative: Remove from stock, as wastage.
- Positive: Add into stock, as an adjustment.
Select [Create].
The Wastage Type is now to select when creating wastage.
Editing Wastage Types
To edit a Wastage Type reason, head to Inventory Management > Wastage > Wastage Types, locate the required Wastage Type and select [Edit].
Within the Edit Wastage Type window:
- Wastage Type Name: Update the name for the Wastage Type.
- Stock Adjustment Type: Displays whether wastage is treated as a Negative or Positive adjustment. This cannot be changed for existing Wastage Types.
Select [Save].
Searching Wastage Types
Access Wastage Types via: Inventory Management > Wastage > Wastage Types.
All Wastage Types are shown by default when accessing this section.
If required, you can filter the list to see specific Wastage Types by using the following filters within the Search panel at the top of the section:
- Wastage Type Name :Search based on the name of the Wastage Type (or part of).
- Include Archived: Specify whether to include archived Wastage Types.
Select [Search], and all Wastage Types which meet your search criteria will be listed.
The Wastage Types list shows the following:
- Wastage Type Name: Displays the name of the Wastage Type which will show throughout reporting.
- Stock Adjustment Type: Displays whether wastage is treated as a Negative or Positive adjustment.
Archiving Wastage Types
Archiving Wastage Types
A Wastage Type can be archived if no longer required.
You can only archive a Wastage Type if you have rights to do so. Click Here if you do not have rights to archive but believe you should.
To archive a Wastage Type, head to Inventory Management > Wastage > Wastage Types, locate the required Wastage Type and select [Edit].
Within the Wastage Type, select [Archive] and confirm.
The Wastage Type is now archived.
Restoring Archived Wastage Types
An archived Wastage Type can be restored if required.
To restore an archived Wastage Type, head to Inventory Management > Wastage > Wastage Types and perform a search with the Included Archived filter enabled. Then, locate the required Wastage Type and select [Edit].
Within the Wastage Type, select [Restore] and confirm.
The Wastage Type is now available again.
