Updating The Default Tax Rate
Setting The Default Tax Rate For The First Time
When setting the Default Tax Rate for the first time, you'll be prompted to select whether existing product prices against the price level should be updated to reflect this change.
If selecting [Save Without Updating Prices], no existing prices will be affected.
If selecting [Save & Update Existing Prices], all product prices on this price level will be updated to reflect the new default tax rate value, regardless of the current tax setting.
Changing The Default Tax Rate (Standard)
When changing the Default Tax Rate, you'll be prompted to select whether existing product prices against the price level should be updated to reflect this change.
If selecting [Save Without Updating Prices], no existing prices will be affected.
If selecting [Save & Update Existing Prices], any product price on this price level which was set to use the previous default tax rate value will be updated to use the new tax rate value. The change will not affect any product prices on this price level which were previously changed to use a different tax rate than the default.
Changing The Default Tax Rate (Restricted)
Some price levels are restricted due to the nature in which they are tied to a third party platform.
If this is the case, you will receive a different prompt to the one above which prevents the option of updating the default tax rate without changing existing product prices.
