Adding Product Family Items
To add items to the product family, in the Product Family Contents Summary section select [Add New Item].
Within the New Product Family Item window:
-
Type: Select either:
- Product: To select individual products to add into the product family.
- Product Group: (Or similar) To select a group to add to the product family.
- Merchant: [Multi-merchant companies only]: If the Product type was selected, select a merchant list to filter the product list below.
-
Item: Select either:
- Products, if type Product was selected.
- A group, if a Group type was selected.
Then select either of the following buttons:
- [ADD AS ITEMS]
- This adds products to the product family as individual products.
- For example, if you select a specific product group, the products within that product group are added as individual products to the product family. This lets you remove individual products in that group from the family if needed.
- Any new products added into the selected group in the future will not be automatically added to the product family.
- [ADD AS GROUP]
- This is only applicable if a Group type was selected, and adds the selected group to the product family as a group.
- For example, if you select a specific product group, the group itself is added to the family, and therefore all products within that group are in the family by default. You cannot remove individual products in that group from the product family.
- Any new products added into the selected group in the future will be automatically included in the product family.
Once added, the selected item shows in the Product Family Contents Summary list.
Removing Product Family Items
To remove existing items from the product family, in the Product Family Contents Summary section select [Remove] against the relevant line.
The Product / Group is no longer assigned to the product family.
Refresh Product Family Items [Multi-Merchant Companies Only]
For multiple merchant companies that use product families to group products per POS merchant, within an existing product family you can link the POS Venue to the product family.
Once linked (after saving the product family), the [REFRESH FAMILY CONTENTS] option becomes available which, when selected and confirmed, removes all existing items from the product family and replaces them with products associated with the POS merchant per the last communication with the POS system.
Retail Kiosk Information
Pushing Deal Changes To Retail Kiosk
If the product family is used by a deal that is associated with a retail menu currently live on a retail kiosk, then it is possible to push changes down to the kiosks via a Delta Menu Publication now.
Alternatively, you can hold back and publish the changes via standard Menu Publication later.
After making changes within the product family, in the Product Family Contents section at the top the option to [Push Changes To Retail Kiosk] becomes available.
To push the changes now, select this and for each menu where the product family is associated with a deal assigned to it, either:
- Opt to remove the deal from the store menu following the new deal changes.
- Update the store menu with the new deal changes.
This ensures that all live retail kiosks reflect the same deal configuration.
Select [Publish Changes] to update all menus.
