This article outlines recent updates to the Product Images section of Cinchio Back Office, used to manage images for menus published to integrated delivery platforms, Cinchio Kiosk, and Cinchio Mobile.
Key changes include improved navigation within the Product Images section and a new Availability option, which lets you restrict images to specific sites and locations.
Accessing Product Images
Product images can now be managed from their own dedicated page.
Within the Products section, selecting [Edit] against a product and then choosing Menu Images will take you directly into the images page for that product.
Alternatively, if you are already viewing a product, you can select the [Menu Images] button in the Additional Product Information section at the bottom of the page.
When you open the product images page, all images uploaded for that product are displayed by default. You can refine the list using the search filter with the following options:
- Destination(s)
- Availability Type & Option(s)
Availability Types & Publication Priority
When uploading an image for a product, you must set its Availability as one of the following:
- Entire Company: The image is available to all current and future sites and locations.
- Selected Sites: The image is available to all locations within the site(s) you specify.
- Selected Locations: The image is available to the individual location(s) you specify.
It’s possible for multiple images to apply to the same location. For example, you might upload one image with Entire Company availability, then add another with Selected Sites to override it for specific sites.
To resolve which image is used when a menu is published to a location, the following priority order is applied:
Selected Locations: Check for an image set directly for the location.
Selected Sites: If none, check for an image set for the site the location belongs to.
Entire Company: If none, check for an image available to the whole company.
Default Image: If no other match is found, use the image marked as Default.
Uploading New Images
Within the product images section, select [Upload Image] and select the following:
- Image URL or File: Either upload an image file or enter the URL of an externally hosted image.
- Destinations: Select the menu destination(s) where this image can be published.
- Assign To: Select where the image is available, using the options explained in the "Availability Types & Publication Priority" section above.
Finally, select [Upload].
The image is now stored against the product, and will update on the selected menu destination(s) when the menu next gets published to the selected location(s).
If the Assign To option of "Selected Sites" or "Selected Locations" has been selected, you'll also need to select the Site(s) / Location(s) that the images is restricted to.
As per the message shown when selecting these options, they should only be used in cases where site/location restrictions are required.
