Report Information
The Daily Summary report gives you headlines for your day. See a complete snapshot of trading activity, from transaction volumes and revenue through to payments, deposits balancing, discounts and team member performance.
Access the Daily Summary report via: Reports & Analysis > Sales > Daily Summary.
The output of the report can very depending on the selected report filter options.
If required, this report can be created as a Saved Report and set up to send out periodically.

| View Sales As | Select whether to see sales in selected sections as Net Sales, Gross Sales or Total Sales. Options vary depending on company reporting profile. |

Section 1 - Transaction Summary
The Transaction Summary section of the Daily Summary report summarises when transactions took place and how many there were.

| First Transaction | Displays the time of the first transaction with the sales date. |
| Last Transaction | Displays the time of the last transaction within the sales date. |
| Transaction Count | Displays the total number of transactions, as well as the average spend per transaction based on the View Sales As filter option. |
| Covers | Displays the total number of covers, as well as the average spend per transaction based on the View Sales As filter option. (This row is hidden if there are no covers.) |
Section 2 - Revenue Received
The Revenue Received section of the Daily Summary report summarises revenue received into the business.

| Retained Charges |
Displays the total value of any transaction charges or fees that are retained by the business as revenue. (This row is based on Media Types with Used For Retained Charges enabled, and is hidden if there are no charges.) |
| Total Revenue Received | Displays the sum of net sales and retained charges. |
Tax Exclusive Reporting (e.g. USA)
For companies using the Tax Exclusive Reporting Profile, this view of the report is shown as per the image below.

Displays the total value of any transaction charges or fees that are retained by the business as revenue. (This row is based on Media Types with Used For Retained Charges enabled, and is hidden if there are no charges.) |
| Total Revenue Received | Displays the sum of net sales and retained charges. |
Section 3 - Liabilities Received
The Liabilities Received section of the Daily Summary report summarises any liabilities captured in transactions that are not retained as revenue.

| Declared POS Tips |
Displays the quantity and total value of tips declared at the POS or Digital Ordering platform. (This row is based on Media Types with Used For Liabilities (Tips) enabled, and is hidden if there are no tips.) |
| Gratuities |
Displays the quantity and total value of gratuities declared at the POS or Digital Ordering platform. (This row is based on Media Types with Used For Liabilities (Gratuities) enabled, and is hidden if there are no gratuities.) |
| Donations |
Displays the quantity and total value of charity donations or round-ups declared at the POS or Digital Ordering platform. (This row is based on Media Types with Used For Liabilities (Charity Donations) enabled, and is hidden if there are no donations.) |
| External Fees |
Displays the quantity and total value of external/government fees or charges captured at the POS or Digital Ordering platform. (This row is based on Media Types with Used For Liabilities (External Fees) enabled, and is hidden if there are no fees.) |
| Total Liabilities Received | Displays the sum of all liabilities captured in transactions. |
Section 4 - Total Received
The Total Received section of the Daily Summary report summarises total monies received into the business, and is a sum of Total Revenue Received in section 2 and Total Liabilities Received in section 3.
Section 5 - Payments Breakdown
The Payments Breakdown section of the Daily Summary report summarises payments received to cover the Total Received in section 4.

Payment types shown in each row depends on the View Payments By filter option selected, where:
- Payment Media: Lists individual payment methods used.
- Payment Media Type: Groups payments by Media Type to give a consolidated total per payment type.
- Payment GL Account: Groups payments by GL Account, based on the chart account defined as the Payment Account against each Media Type.
Against each row in the table, for each payment type you see:
- Quantity: The number of times this payment has been applied. (This may be multiple times in one transaction.)
- Amount: The total value of the payment received.
Total Payments received is shown beneath, which should match Total Received in section 4.
Section 6 - Deposits Balancing
The Deposits Balancing section of the Daily Summary report only shows if your company is using the Revenue Management module, and summarises cash up and deposit declarations versus payments received.

Each row in the table contains payment media types for any payments received or counted on the day.
Against each row in the table, for each payment type you see:
- Expected: The expected amount based on transactions.
- Counted: The amount counted in all cash up records associated with the sales date.
- Deposited: The amount declared in an deposits (including auto-deposits) associated with the sales date.
Over/Short is shown beneath, showing the difference between Expected and Counted, and showing the difference between Counted and Deposited.
Section 7 - Product Group Sales
The Product Group Sales section of the Daily Summary report summarises total sales, split by product group.

Product groups shown in each row depends on the View Product Group Sales By filter option selected, where:
- Super Group: Group sales at top-level based on product super groups.
- Master Group: Group sales at a mid-level based on product master groups.
- Product Group: Group sales at low-level based on product groups.
- Sales GL Account: Groups sales by GL Account, based on the chart account defined as the Sales Account against each Product Group.
Against each row in the table, for each product group you see:
- Quantity: The number of units sold of products within the group.
- Amount: The total sale revenue of those products, per the View Sales As report filter option.
Total Sales received is shown beneath.
Section 8 - Discount Summary
The Discount Summary section of the Daily Summary report summarises discounts issued to customers.

Discounts shown in each row depends on the View Discounts By filter option selected, where:
- Discount Group: Groups discount based on the product group that discount reporting products are assigned to.
- Discount Product: Lists individual discounts used.
- Discount GL Account: Groups discounts by GL Account, based on the chart account defined as the Discount Account against each Product Group containing discount reporting products.
Against each row in the table, for each discount you see:
- Quantity: The number of units affected by the discount.
- Amount: The total discount amount issued, per the View Sales As report filter option.
Total Discount is shown beneath.
Section 9 - Transaction Sources
The Transaction Sources section of the Daily Summary report summarises sales, split by transaction source.

- Quantity: The number of transactions received from this source.
- Amount: The total sale revenue in those transactions, per the View Sales As report filter option.

| Voids | Displays the quantity and total value of voided lines in sales. |
| Cancelled Sales | Displays the quantity and total value of cancelled sales at the POS. |

| Total Refunds & Voids | Displays the total value of all refunds and voids, summarising total potential losses. |
