Modifier Groups
Modifier Group Feature Relocation
The Modifier Groups section has been relocated.
You can now access Modifier Groups alongside other menu builder tools within the Menu Management section of the main menu.
New Setting: Modifier Group Type
A Modifier Group now requires a Modifier Group Type.
The Modifier Group Type determines how the Modifier Group can be used, particularly when nesting Modifier Groups, which is covered later in this article.
What Types Are Available?
There are four types to choose from:
- Instructions
- Modifiers in this Modifier Group are used to instruct how the menu item should be prepared.
- For example: Cooking Instructions, Coffee Milk Option, Remove Ingredient Options.
- You cannot nest a second level of modifiers against Instruction modifiers, but they can be nested as a second level against Product Upsells and Deal Options below.
- Product Add Ons
- Modifiers in this Modifier Group are used to embellish the menu item with extras.
- For example: Extra Toppings, Add Sauce, Coffee Extras.
- You cannot nest a second level of modifiers against Product Add On modifiers, but they can be nested as a second level against Product Upsells and Deal Options below.
- Product Upsells
- Modifiers in this Modifier Group are accompaniments to the selected menu item.
- For example: Add A Side, Add A Drink, Add A Pastry.
- You can nest a second level of Instruction or Product Add Ons modifiers against Product Upsell modifiers.
- Deal Options
- Modifiers in this Modifier Group are used to help the customer build a deal.
- For example: Select Your Burger, Select Your Side, Select Your Drink.
- You can nest a second level of Instruction or Product Add Ons modifiers against Deal Option modifiers.
What Happens To Existing Modifier Groups?
Existing Modifier Groups without a Modifier Group Type will continue to work as they do today.
Over time, when making changes to an existing Modifier Group, you'll be prompted to assign a Modifier Group Type.
New Feature: Nested Modifiers
The existing Edit Modifier Product window against Modifiers within a Modifier Group set as type Product Upsells or Deal Options has been updated to allow for configuration of Nested Modifier Groups.
This allows you to attach Instruction or Product Add Ons type Modifier Groups, creating a second level of against the Modifier when additional modifications are required.
Arranging Nested Modifiers Groups
Within Arrange Selected Modifier Groups, you can drag and drop each row to arrange the order in which the second level of Modifier Groups will be displayed when that Modifier is selected.
You can also select a Modifier Group in the table to see more details about its configuration, including the individual Modifiers it contains.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION Nested Modifiers are can only be used on Cinchio Mobile and Cinchio Kiosk platforms. |
