To edit an existing product:
- Head to Product Management > Products.
- Locate the required product and select [EDIT] then select [PRODUCT].
There are many aspects to a product that can be updated:
Product Details

The core products settings below are available to edit:
- Back Office Product ID: Displays the unique product ID for this product within Cinchio Back Office.
- Long Product Name: Displays the long product name used throughout Cinchio Back Office.
- Short Product Name: Displays the short product name, typically used by the POS.
- Product Name For KMS: If using the Cinchio Logwood KMS solution, enter the product name to show on the KMS when this product is sold via Cinchio Kiosk, Cinchio Mobile, and integrated remote order platforms. (This is limited to 20 characters.)
- Product Code: Displays your internal code for the product.
- PLU: Displays the products unique POS identifier.
- Product Menu Name: If using the Menu Management module, enter the name of this product as it should be seen on public menus. (This can be overwritten at menu level if required.)
- Product Master Group: Displays the master group that the product is assigned to. (The super group that the master group belongs to is shown in brackets for reference.)
- Product Group: Displays the group that the product is assigned to for reporting.
- Stock Type: For Inventory Management use only.
- Saleable: Mark the product as saleable for use within back office orders and integrations.

The following additional products settings are also available:
- Product Attributes: Manage attributes assigned against the product. Click Here for more details.
- Source From POS: Displays if the product was created automatically via POS integration.

Deal Reporting Product: Displays whether the product is specifically required for deal/discount reporting:
- Enable this to use as the reporting product for Deals required in Cinchio Back Office.
- For integrated POS systems, this will be enabled by default for combos and discounts created at the POS.
- For As PLU On KMS: If enabled, the product will always be displayed on the KMS as a standard product, never as a modifier, Even if sent as a modifier from the remote sales platform.
- Sales Description: For companies using Menu Management, enter a sales description of the product which customers can see via ordering platforms.
- GL Code For Sales: If required, enter a product-level GL code specific to sales of this product for data extracts. (Note that GL codes can be set at group-level too.)
- Allow Batch Counting: For Inventory Management use only.
Edit Product Prices & Tax Rates

There are various ways in which a products price and tax rate can be updated.
To view and update multiple products across multiple price levels, you can use the Price List Report as per the image above.
Alternatively, you can update individual prices against individual products:
- Within the setup page of the product.
- Within the price level setup page.
- Within a menu (if applicable).

Product Attributes
Edit Product Allergens
Within the Allergens & Nutrition tab you can assign standard allergens against products:
- Select [ADD ALLERGEN].
- Select the allergen from the list of those available.
- Select [SAVE].
The allergen is now assigned to the product. For companies using the Inventory Management module, allergens are also inherited by other products that use this product as an ingredient. The Source column highlights the ingredient product where an allergen is inherited from.
To help keep allergens up-to-date, you can also select [Allergens Checked] to confirm the last time that the allergens associated with this product were validated.
Edit Nutritional Information
Within the Allergens & Nutrition tab you can set the following nutritional values against the product to be shown to customers on order platforms that support them:
- Kcals: Enter the Calorific value of one saleable portion.
- Kj: Populates with the Kj energy value based on Kcals entered.
- High Fat, Salt or Sugar: Flags the product as "HFSS" for selected third party integrations.
Edit Product Dietary Tags
Within the Allergens & Nutrition tab you can select any dietary attributes specific to each product. These attributes can then be shown to customers on order platforms that support them.
Product Assets
Upload Product Images
To upload a menu image against a product:
- Head to Product Management > Products.
- Locate the required product, then select [EDIT] and [MENU IMAGES].
To upload an image, select [UPLOAD IMAGE] then:

Image URL or File: To assign the image, either:
- Select [SELECT FILE] to select an image file from your device;
- Enter the URL of an image hosted publicly elsewhere.
- Destinations: Select which menu destination(s) the image is available at.

Assign To: Select whether the image applies to:
- Entire Company: The image is available to all current and future sites and locations.
- Selected Sites: The image is available to all locations within the site(s) you specify.
- Selected Locations: The image is available to the individual location(s) you specify.
Then select [Upload].
The first image assigned against the product is marked as the Default image; this can be changed if required.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION As image specifications differ across menu platforms, Cinchio Back Office does not impose any validation on the content, ratio, quality, or other aspects of the images. It is your responsibility to ensure that the images align with the requirements and guidelines of each menu destination platform. In instances where menu destination platforms require approval for images, Cinchio Back Office has no visibility of the approval process. Any inquiries regarding approval status should be directed to the respective menu destination partner. |
Upload Product Documentation
Utilising the File Manager feature, you can upload files against a product from the [Files] link within the product setup page.
- Within the Files page, select [UPLOAD FILE].
- Select the file manager Folder that the file should live within.
- Enter a Title for the file.
- Select file Tags if applicable.
- Select [CHOOSE FILE]
- Select the file from your device.
- Then, select [UPLOAD].
The file can now be accessed within the current Files section of the product, as well as within the selected folder via the File Manager section.
Product Family Assignment
You can view, add and remove an individual products from Product Families from the [Product Families] link within the product setup page.
If the product is contained within a product already, the Item Source column highlights whether the product has been added into the family as an individual product or based on the group that the product is assigned to.
The [Add] and [Remove] options are available to add/remove the individual product in/out of the product family.

Kitchen Production Planner Settings
For use as part of the Production Planner feature, the following product settings are available:
- Stocking Size Rounding: If the products Display Unit is set to Stocking, this determines the number of decimal places quantities of this product are rounded to within the production planner.
- Receiving Size Rounding: If the products Display Unit is set to Receiving, this determines the number of decimal places quantities of this product are rounded to within the production planner.
