About
New to Cinchio October 2026
These changes were introduced to Cinchio 19th October 2026.
Alongside nested modifiers on Cinchio Kiosk (F&B) and Cinchio Mobile, several updates are coming to menu management in Cinchio Back Office.
What's changing
Add a second level of modifiers to an upsell or deal option. For example, choosing how a side is cooked.
A new location in the menu, a new Modifier Group Type setting, bulk adding and clearer usage.
More detail about modifier groups in menus, and cleaner, easier-to-use layouts.
Ready to look?
Start with the Modifier Groups tab.
Modifier Groups
Modifier groups have a new home, a new type setting, nested modifiers and some time-saving improvements.
What would you like to see?
New location
Modifier Groups has moved. You'll now find it with the other menu builder tools, in the Menu Management section of the main menu.
Modifier group types
Every modifier group now needs a Modifier Group Type. The type decides how the group can be used, especially when nesting modifier groups.
The four types
Instructions
How the menu item should be prepared.
For example: cooking instructions, coffee milk options, remove an ingredient.
Nesting: Can be nested under Product Upsells and Deal Options. Can't have its own nested groups.
Product Add Ons
Extras that embellish the menu item.
For example: extra toppings, add a sauce, coffee extras.
Nesting: Can be nested under Product Upsells and Deal Options. Can't have its own nested groups.
Product Upsells
Accompaniments to the menu item.
For example: add a side, add a drink, add a pastry.
Nesting: Can have Instructions or Product Add Ons nested under it.
Deal Options
Choices that help the customer build a deal.
For example: select your burger, select your side, select your drink.
Nesting: Can have Instructions or Product Add Ons nested under it.
What happens to existing modifier groups?
Nothing changes straight away
Existing modifier groups without a type keep working as they do today. When you next change one, you'll be asked to choose its type.
Nested modifiers
Modifiers in a Product Upsells or Deal Options group can now have their own modifier groups attached. This adds a second level, for when the customer needs to make more choices about that modifier.
Cinchio Kiosk and Cinchio Mobile only
Nested modifiers can only be used on Cinchio Mobile, and on Cinchio F&B Kiosk (v1.9 or above).
1
Open the modifier
In a Product Upsells or Deal Options modifier group, open the modifier in the Edit Modifier Product window.
2
Attach the nested groups
Attach the Instructions or Product Add Ons modifier groups that customers should see when they choose this modifier.
3
Arrange them
In Arrange Selected Modifier Groups, drag and drop the rows into the order customers should see them. Select a modifier group to see its setup, including the modifiers in it.
When a customer chooses this modifier on Cinchio Kiosk or Cinchio Mobile, they'll see the nested groups next.

Other improvements
Modifier group list
Modifier groups are now listed as soon as you open Modifier Groups, without searching first. The list also shows more about each group and its settings.
Bulk adding modifiers
When adding modifiers to a group, you can now select and add several products at once. Use the Product Group filter to find the products you need quickly.
Modifier group usage
The Modifier Group Usage section makes it easier to see where a modifier group is used, and to go straight there.
Menu Designer
Menu Designer shows more about modifier groups in your menus, with cleaner layouts that are easier to use.

Menu categories
You can still attach default modifier groups to a menu category.
The Add Default Category Modifier Groups section now shows more about each group. Select a modifier group to see its setup.
Or select a modifier to see its prices on every price level linked to the menu. You can also go straight to all its other prices.
Menu Builder
In Menu Builder, the Edit Modifier Groups section also shows more about the modifier groups on each menu item. Select a modifier group or modifier to see the same setup and pricing details as in menu categories.
