Coming to Cinchio in August 2026 |
Introduction
We're updating Product Suspensions in Cinchio Back Office to simplify the management of suspended products and improve the user experience.
What's Changing?
- Back Office Product Suspensions have been refreshed, making it quicker and easier to suspend and reinstate products from a central location.
- A new Product Suspensions tool is being introduced in the Operations Hub, giving front-of-house teams fast access to suspend and reinstate products as availability changes throughout the day.
- Product Suspensions for Cinchio Kiosk and Cinchio Mobile can now be managed entirely within Cinchio Back Office, providing a single, centralised location for suspension management across all channels.
These changes are designed to streamline product availability management, improve operational efficiency, and give teams greater control over product availability across all sales channels.
Suspending Products Front-of-House
Step 1: Access your locations Operations Hub.
Access the Operations Hub on your POS or front-of-house device.
On the home page, select [Suspend Products].
Information on the Operations Hub
The Operations Hub is an application comprised of various tools to help with day-to-day front-of-house actions, such as being able to quickly suspend a product from sale.
Typically, this is bookmarked for easy access on your POS or other front-of-house device.
Alternatively, you can easily access the Operations Hub for your location via the Back Office landing page. You just need access to the Operations Hub Access widget, which you can enable against your user profile if you don't already have it by going to: Account > My Account > Widgets > Miscellaneous.
For more information on the Operations Hub, check out This Article.
Step 2: Select your menu.
If you only have one menu active at your location, you wont see this step.
But if your location has multiple menus active, you'll first need to select the menu which the product exists on.
If your product exists on multiple menus, not to worry. You can use any menu to select the product, as suspending the product on one menu will suspend it across all menus where it exists.
Step 3: Locate the product that you need to suspend.
Products are split into separate sections based on the menu category they're assigned to, and displayed in the same order that they exist on the menu.
There is also a search option, allowing you to filter the list based on the products name.
Information on Locating Modifiers
When you suspend a product, you're suspending all instances of that product across all menus.
That means, if you suspend Fries product in the Sides category for example, the Fries product becomes suspended both within the Sides category it exists within, as well as any scenarios where Fries is being used as a modifier against other menu items.
In some cases, products only exist in menus as a modifier. So to help, at the bottom there is the View All Modifiers section available which lists all modifiers available within the menu, should you need to specifically suspend a product used only as a modifier.
Step 4: Suspend your product.
To suspend the product, simply select [Suspend] and then confirm.
All instances of this product - both when used as a standard menu item and a modifier - will be suspended across all menus on all integrated menu platforms at your location.
Step 5: End your product suspension.
To end the product suspension, locate the product in the same way as covered previously, or use the toggle in the top right corner to filter to just those products which have an active suspension.
To remove the suspension, select [End Now] and then confirm.
All instances of this product - both when used as a standard menu item and a modifier - will be made available again across all menus on all integrated menu platforms at your location.
Information on Partial Suspensions
When you suspend products via the Operations Hub, you're suspending all instances of that product across all integrated menu platforms, with no scheduled end date.
Via the Back Office, it is possible to select individual integrated menu platforms to suspend the product on, if it is that you'd like to keep the product available on selected platforms.
Likewise, via the Back Office, it is also possible to schedule an end date against individual product suspensions if you know when you'd like the product to become automatically available again.
For any product with a suspension, the appropriate message is shown beneath the product name to tell you the current status. And if there are some integrated menu platforms where the product is still available, you can use the [Suspend All] option to suspending the product on all remaining platforms.
