About
Cash events record regular activities involving cash, or other payment types, at a site. Each one uses a cash event template set up in advance, so recording it only takes a few clicks.
What a cash event creates
When it's approved, a cash event creates one or more of these, depending on its template:
Till Media Movement
A zero value transaction on the till, swapping one payment type for another.
Account Movement
A cash movement between two accounts.
Bank Deposit Movement
A bank deposit from a cash account to a bank account.
How a cash event moves on
Pending
Created, and can still be changed.
Approved
Approved, and the records in its template are created.
Completed
The period it falls in is complete. Only if you use periods.
Reporting
There are no reports just for cash events, but the records they create show in these reports:
The Cash Movements Analysis report.
The Bank Deposit Summary and Bank Deposit Analysis reports.

FAQs
Frequently asked questions
QWhat happens when I approve a cash event?
The records set up in its template are created:
Till Media Movement
A zero value transaction on the till, swapping one payment type for another.
Account Movement
A cash movement between two accounts.
Bank Deposit Movement
A bank deposit from a cash account to a bank account.
QWhy can't I roll back a cash event?
Check the conditions in Roll Back. A common reason is an event with a till media movement, where the till's cash up has already been approved. Roll back the cash up first.
QCan I change what a cash event does?
What a cash event creates comes from its template. Change the template in Cash Event Templates. Cash events created after that use the changes.
