Introduction
Transaction customer assignment works with cash ups in Cinchio Back Office. Customer accounts are usually assigned to transactions automatically for reporting. When that isn't possible, this feature lets you assign them yourself.
Transactions paid with a payment media that needs a customer are listed in the cash up count, and each must have a customer before the cash up can be approved.
Assigning a Customer to a Transaction
When you enter a cash up count, any transactions that need a customer are shown near the top of the page.
1
Against the transaction, select ASSIGN TO CUSTOMER.
2
Choose the Customer Name, then select ASSIGN TO CUSTOMER.
3
Repeat for each transaction listed.
Once every transaction has a customer, the cash up can be approved.
Wrong customer?
Select REMOVE TRANSACTION to take the customer off, then assign the right one before approving.
During the day
Assign customers as you go with the Transaction Customer Assignment dashboard widget.
Configuration
There are two parts to set up.
1. Turn it on for your company
1
Go to Company Settings > Company and open the Global Settings tab. See company setup.
2
Turn on Cashup Checks For Customer Assignments and select SAVE COMPANY.
2. Choose which payment types need a customer
1
Go to Company Settings > Payments > Media Types and open the media type.
2
Turn on Transactions Must Have Customer Assigned and select SAVE MEDIA TYPE.
Any transaction paid with payment media of that type now needs a customer before the cash up can be approved.
