About
Deals is where you create and manage deals, discounts and promotions for the menus you publish from Cinchio Back Office.
Deals work on these menu destinations:
- Cinchio Kiosk (F&B)
- Cinchio Mobile
- Cinchio Retail
They cover everything from simple transaction discounts, such as a percentage or fixed amount off, to item-level deals like free items, meal deals and Buy X Get Y offers.
How a deal works
Conditions
What must be in the basket, such as which products and how many.
Discount
What the customer gets once the conditions are met.
Availability
When the deal can be used.
Two levels of deal
Specific Items
The discount applies to particular items in the basket. For example, a meal deal or Buy X Get Y.
Entire Transaction
The discount applies to the whole basket. For example, 10% off, or £5 off when you spend £30.

Create
A deal is built in five stages. Work through them in order.
Before you start, make sure you have
A deal type
Every deal belongs to a deal type.
A deal reporting product
Deals report against one in transactions. Use an existing one, or create a new product.
Any product families
If a condition covers several products, create a product family to group them.
New to deals?
Look at the example deals for how to set up common F&B and retail deals.
The five stages
1. Deal Details
Name, type, reporting product, discount level and dates.
What must be in the basket before the deal is valid: which products, and how many or how much.
What the customer gets once the conditions are met, and which items it applies to.
Optional. Narrow the deal's dates down to certain days, times or periods.
Add the deal to the menus it should appear in.
1. Details
Set up the basics: what the deal is called, how it reports and whether it discounts specific items or the whole transaction.
1
Start a new deal
Go to Product Management > Deals > Deals and select New Deal.
2
Name it and choose how it reports
In the New Deal window, fill in:
The deal's name, as it's known throughout Cinchio Back Office.
The deal type the deal belongs to.
The deal reporting product the deal reports against in transactions. Only products flagged as deal reporting products are listed.
3
Choose the discount level
Choose the Discount Level:
Specific Items
The discount applies to particular items in the basket.
Entire Transaction
The discount applies to the whole basket.
Choose carefully
The discount level can't be changed once the deal is created.
4
Set the dates
Set the dates the deal can be used between:
The date the deal is first available.
The date the deal ends. If it has no end date, choose a date far in the future.
Need it on certain days or times only?
You can narrow this down later with availability rules.
5
Save it
Select Save. The deal page opens, with five sections: Deal Details, Deal Conditions, Deal Discounts, Deal Availability Rules and Deal Usage.
6
Set the extra options
In the Deal Details section, set any of these extra options:
For menu destinations that support it, how the deal shows to customers:
How the deal reports in Cinchio Back Office transactions. The options work the same way as Display Style. Discount Across Items is recommended.
Entire Transaction deals only. Tick to let items already discounted by another deal still count towards this deal's conditions:
Tick to let items discounted by this deal be discounted again by an Entire Transaction deal applied later. This works for both Specific Items and Entire Transaction deals. Deals are applied in the order they're listed in the menu.
The deal is created. Next, set up its conditions.
2. Conditions
Conditions say what must be in the basket before the deal is valid: which products, and how many of them or how much they're worth.
Specific Items deals
Need at least one condition. Add one for each group of items in the deal. For example, a meal deal might have a main, a side and a drink.
Entire Transaction deals
Conditions are optional. Without one, the discount applies to any basket. Add one for rules like a minimum spend.
Example
For "any 2 drinks for £5", the condition is: items from the Drinks product family, with a minimum and maximum quantity of 2.
1
Add a condition
In the Deal Conditions section, select New Deal Condition.
2
Choose the items
In the Deal Condition window, fill in:
A name for the condition. Only seen in Cinchio Back Office.
The product family or product.
3
Set how many or how much
Say how many, or how much, must be in the basket:
Whether the basket is checked by Quantity of items or Value of items.
The minimum quantity or value needed.
Optionally, the maximum quantity or value.
4
Exclude products (optional)
If you chose a product family, you can leave out particular products, so you don't have to maintain a separate family:
Tick to exclude some products from the condition.
The product family or product to exclude.
Example
A deal on everything in your All Drinks family, except champagne. Exclude champagne here, rather than having to maintain a separate list of all eligible drinks.
5
Save it
Select Save. Repeat for any other conditions.
The basket rules are set. Next, set up the discount.
3. Discounts
Once the conditions are met, the discount is applied. Where it goes depends on the deal's discount level:
Specific Items
Each discount goes on the items of one condition, or on All Condition Items, where it's shared proportionally across every item that meets the conditions.
Entire Transaction
The discount applies to the whole basket.
